British actor Idris Elba is in talks to support a £1billion bid for Channel 4 reports suggest.
According to the Sunday Times, Idris is looking to team up with international marketing firm Miroma Group following the government’s controversial decision to privatise the corporation this April.
The sale’s process will be formally triggered next month, with a new bill coming to parliament. There is, however, significant opposition to the move, with a number of Conservative MPs expected to vote against the sale.
Miroma are among a group of 25 interested parties surrounding the sales process which is being led by investment bank JP Morgan, with ITV, Paramount and Warner Bros Discovery also thought to be in the running.
