North London’s residing songstress Ruby Francis has graced the sound waves with the release of her debut album entitled, ‘Archives’.
Weaving a sound that’s reminiscent of ‘00s R&B neo-soul in with her love for heavy-weight artists including Chaka Khan, Level 42 and Stevie Wonder. Produced by Ruby herself, ‘Archives’ showcases her potential and all-round versatility as she navigates the listener through a selection of varying sounds from downtempo R&B, funk, and neo-influenced tracks that each encapsulate a modern-day twist.
Speaking on the album, Ruby Francis commented, “Archives the album, is a collection of songs I have produced and written over the years, encountering different phases and experiences I have been through; from overcoming breakups and relationship hurdles, mental health struggles, exploring fantasies and characters as well as just having fun. These were all songs that have been archived. I hope that the listener will relate and create their own meanings and concepts through the journey of the songs.”
