Quickly on the back of his latest single ‘Pressure’ featuring Afro Trap pioneer Naira Marley, fast-rising South London Afroswing artist Starboy Willz is certainly not resting on his laurels, as he returns with a brand new single titled ‘All On Me’, premiered exclusively via The FADER, and taken from his forthcoming debut solo EP. The single comes with an eye-catching music video, directed by burgeoning film collective 41 Boyz Films.
Produced by Delirious, who has previously worked with the likes of Tinie Tempah, Lady Leshurr, Stylo G, Mista Silva, and Moelogo, ‘All On Me’ is a captivating mid-tempo Afroswing offering, backed by infectious synth-infused keyboard and lush sparse drum arrangements, over which Starboy Willz displays that undeniable performance prowess, lyrical dexterity, and smooth vocal performance, that fans and critics have come to know and love, from the South London native.
Bursting onto the scene in 2013, Starboy Willz was more popularly known as part of revered UK Afrobeats duo Starboy Willz & Showa Shins, who had numerous underground hits such as ‘Jupa’ featuring Stormzy, and ‘Ogede’ featuring Mista Silva, under their belt. In recent years, Starboy Willz has launched his solo career to much acclaim and rave reviews, and is gearing up to release his highly anticipated debut solo EP later this year.
Speaking about his new single ‘All On Me’, Starboy Willz says, “I’ve been making music for a while now, and I’ve worked with many different producers, but working with Delirious has to be one of my all time favourite recording experiences. The record is about me trying to win affections of his leading lady, but she seemingly only wants him for ‘the money, and the fame, and the cars’. I’m really excited about this record, and I hope everyone likes it as much as we do”.
