Today (May 12th), LA-based singer Joyce Wrice dropped off a quarantine-friendly visual to her most recent release, “That’s On You”.
The emotive offering illustrates the trails and tribulations of Wrice’s relationship, using the hook to question their future. She croons, “Am I holding on to nothing? Is there more to this discussion or am I interrupting?” over a smokey instrumentation-driven back.
For the visual, the songstress invites us into her earthy Cali pad, there she creates an effortlessly intimate vibe for us all to enjoy.
Speaking on the making of the visual, Wrice told Complex. “Due to our circumstances, I knew that I would be challenged creatively to execute my vision. However, after discussing with my friend and director, Yavez Anthonio, we determined to paint the story out to be as authentic and reflective to the times as possible. We got my friend David Camarena , who is also a director, to help me shoot the video in my home, while Yavez directed us on FaceTime. We had a great time quarantine style and I’m so proud of the results. Hope you enjoy!”
