Crazy Cousinz Calls In Yxng Bane, Mr Eazi & Lily McKenzie In New Music Video ‘No Way’

Kings Media

After Drake memorably sampled the UK funky anthem ‘Do You Mind’ on his global smash ‘One Dance’, Crazy Cousinz dropped ‘No Way’. Featuring a triple-threat of special guests in the shape of Lily McKenzie, Yxng Bane and Mr Eazi the record first touched the radio waves as Mistajam’s ‘Jam Hot’ on BBC Radio 1Xtra and now GRM Daily have exclusively premiered the visuals.

Set on an interchanging backdrop of bold pastel colours, the record comes to visual life through a myriad of edits that sees slick split screens, lyrics cut out on screen to reveal the video playing beneath and a selection of vibes captured by dance. The impeccable visual changes stick perfectly to the beat, capturing the sizzling Afrobeats rhythms and the undercurrent of R&B that surround the enticingly immediate hook. Lily McKenzie’s soulful topline stands at the top of the production, while features from Yxng Bane and Mr Eazi reiterate ‘No Way’s’ natural authenticity.

Crazy Cousinz – aka Flukes – is a classically trained musician who has produced for artists such as Tinie Tempah and also created official remixes, more recently for hits such as Not3s ‘Aladdin’ & Zac Samuel ‘Play It Cool’. His productions have been complemented by a major DJing career, which has taken him across most of the world’s leading clubs. Between ‘No Way’, ‘One Dance’ and his UK funky tracks, Crazy Cousinz has demonstrated an ability to thrive with an eclectic mix of sounds.

The artists that he has assembled for ‘No Way’ are all firmly established in their own right:

South London singer-songwriter Lily McKenzie earned support from the likes of 1Xtra, Kiss FM, SBTV, Rinse and Clash for her ‘Support Machine’ EP. Her co-writing and production credits include work with Wiley, Giggs and Zdot.

Influenced by the likes of Future and Chris Brown, East Londoner Yxng Bane’s debut mixtape ‘Full Moon’ demonstrated his ability to meld dancehall, Afrobeats, rap and pop. Wizkid remixed his ‘Fine Wine’ track which featured Kojo Funds, while Yxng Bane also featured on Yungen’s recent summer Top 10 hit ‘Bestie’.

Born in Nigeria, Mr Eazi leads the Banku music genre, which is influencing the wider Afrobeats scene. Previously nominated for BET, MOBO and African Pride awards Mr Eazi recently claimed a career landmark when he became the first African artist to be named as Apple Music’s Up Next artist. After performing on The Late Late Show with James Corden, Mr Eazi curated his own Life Is Eazi Culture Fest at London’s Roundhouse.
