The ‘lost’ bangers…

Yxng Bane is the U.K’s sweetheart rapper with pop-star potential. Between hearty melodies and gangsta rapping, he has done it all and to the highest degree. Standing as one of the most prominent UK artists, he has cracked the ‘formula’ – one described by Tory Lanez – by being the man the women want, and the man that men want to be. The East London artist’s latest is called ‘Quarantime: The Lost Files’ which is a collection of new and archived records, now being released to the public! Loosely organised tapes work well for artists, including Drake, who are constantly recording new music and want to keep their listeners engaged for their next major release.

Yxng Bane’s previous EP, ‘HBK’ (Heartbreak Kid), was released under Disturbing London Records back in 2018. This year, it’s totally different vibes and in true old-school mixtape style, Charlie Sloth is hosting throughout! He’s taken quite a lighthearted approach to this tape and has given way to a good number of jumpy records, particularly heard in ‘Section’, ‘Rockstar’ (ft DBE) and ‘Are You Mad’ (ft K Trap). Honestly speaking, I haven’t gone a day without screaming “I need some love, I need a hug, girl where you at!?”.

Brief moment of silence if you sang that with me.

The upbeat anthems are a staple from the charting rapper, whom we know for having a string of club bangers and contagious hooks! Two more things we appreciate from Bane on this tape is his linkup with close peer, Kojo Funds, on ‘Change Your Life’ and heartthrob record, ‘Table for Two’, with a coupling cameo from Zeze Millz! He further explores the relationship theme in ‘Rubbish’ (ft G Frsh) and it’s the storytelling aspect that really hits home – Bane is never afraid to weave his real life into the music.

Similarly to HBK, the hit-maker has crafted a body of work that allows listeners in. His selection on this particular project captures his transition into a rock-star lifestyle, also amplifying his matching fashion and personality. This mixtape is raw and fun, riddled with trap and melodic elements. There’s a song for everyone! #StayIndoors
