The Ivors Academy presents the Ivor Novello Awards to celebrate songwriting, screen composing and the impact of these collaborations. UK talents, Dave, Labrinth and Lil Simz, are amongst the 2020 winners!
Dave and legendary composer, Fraser T Smith, collaborated for the profound record, “Black”, which won the ‘Best Contemporary Song’ award. They worked together to pay tribute to a sea of unjust societal matters and deliver a pro-black message.
Lil Simz took home a huge ‘Best Album’ win for her latest album, “Grey Area”, produced by Inflo. She wrote: “Just won Best Album at the @IvorsAcademy 2020 for GREY Area ! Thankful. One time for flo , my family , team and everyone that has been the foundation of support every artist needs. Been a long journey but more on the horizon to come.”
Labrinth thanked Ivor Novello for his second award, ‘Best Television Soundtrack’, for HBO series, “Euphoria”. The artist highlighted the fact that he was last awarded, years ago, for his groundbreaking record “Pass Out” featuring Tiny Tempah.
Congratulations to all the talents!
