Squid Game Season 2 is officially set as Netflix released a video confirming that the second season is on the way.
Squid Game follows several individuals in dire need of money locked in a secret location to play a series of games with hopes of winning 45.6 billion won.
Fans were also treated to some details of the upcoming season with director Hwang Dong-hyuk confirming the return of main character Gi-hun and the mysterious Front Man.
He also said “the man in the suit with ddakji might be back,” and that we’ll also get introduced to Cheol-su, Young-hee’s boyfriend.
“It took 12 years to bring the first season of ‘Squid Game’ to life last year. But it took 12 days for ‘Squid Game’ to become the most popular Netflix series ever,” Hwang wrote. “As the writer, director, and producer of ‘Squid Game,’ a huge shout out to fans around the world. Thank you for watching and loving our show… Join us once more for a whole new round.”
At launch, Squid Game was viewed by over 111 million accounts becoming Netflix’s most watched show ever at the time.
