Tying the Boston Celtics for the most championship titles in NBA history, the LA Lakers and fans celebrate the title being brought back to Los Angeles who last saw it in 2010.
Hollywood’s stars, from Rihanna to Snoop Dogg, also joined the celebration for the win that saw the Lakers win 106 points up against Miami Heat. The team’s success has been heavily attributed to their clever defense and a stand-out performance from Rajon Rondo in game 6.
The players dedicated their victory to the late LA Lakers veteran, Kobe Bryant, who tragically passed this year, and further elevated the team’s legacy. Upon winning, four time NBA champion, Lebron James, said: “When you put yourself in a position to win a championship, the first thing you think about is how much work you’ve put in over the course of the year.”
