The talented Knox Brown is a producer from Birmingham via Jamaica who behind the scenes worked with some of the biggest names in music over the last couple of years including Jay Z, Aloe Blacc, Mary J Blige, Usher and Jess Glynne among others. He’s also an amazing songwriter and vocalist in his own right, first shown with his track Harry’s Code, a kind of chaotic contemporary take on Motown which he put online a couple of years ago to a lot of attention and his only solo track to date to see the light of day until now.
The collaboration with the Young Fire, Old Flame; Avelino and Wretch 32 comes ahead of a debut EP from Knox due this spring, bringing together g-funk piano with trap-tinged hip hop, brushstrokes of brass and choir, and Knox’s own soulful chorus lament, technically proficient yet deep hitting verses from the duo.
