Chart Update : Big Moves For Michael Dapaah & Stormzy As They Push For A Christmas No.1 Single

Kings Media

It’s that time of the week and the Official Charts stats are in…

Man’s Not Hot may not be hot on the socials as it was a few months ago, but it’s definitely flaming up the charts. Up two places this week to Number 6, having entered the Top 10 singles charts last week at Number 10.  The move up the chart has seen the single projected as a potential Christmas number 1 single this year. A move that the South London entertainer would never have dreamt of.

Also this week, the ‘Man’s Not Hot‘ single became a silver seller in the UK – shifting over 200,000 units. Michael was very appreciate of the support he’s recieved and subsiquently took to socials to thank his fans.

“200,000 + copies sold in the U.K.  Thank so much everyone the Plaques coming . Fam I’m proper grateful for the support seriously guys” – he wrote on twitter.

The single currently has over 46 Million Spotify streams and over 70 million streams – a Christmas number 1 is definitely on sight.

Another big move on the charts this week is Stormzy’s sensational ‘Blinded By Your Grace pt 2’ single featuring MNEK. Last week it was outside the top 10 at number 12 but it has moved up 5 places this week to number 7. The single makes it a 3rd UK Top 10 for  Stormzy, with ‘Big for your boots’  and ‘Shut Up’ being the other two. The huge move up the chart has also seen the single mentioned as a serious contender for the Christmas number 1 single.

‘Blinded by your grace pt 2’ currently has just over 14 millions Spotify stream and Stormzy’s appearance of huge platforms like The X-Factor, Jonathan Ross Show and MTV all had a huge impact in the figure. The single is seeing upward momentum inside the Top 10, but can Stormzy bring home the festive crown and secure his first ever UK Number 1? – I guess we will have to wait and see.

Elsewhere, Mabel and Kojo Funds find themselves 2 places outside the Top 10 this week. Their ‘Finders Keepers’ single is down to Number 12, having now spent 15 weeks in the charts, peaking  as high as number 8 earlier this month.

Dave’s ‘No Words‘ single is down a place to number 23. The single saw him team up with Mostack and the Steel Banglez produced track, taken off his ‘Gam Over’ EP.

Stefflon Don has enjoyed 15 weeks in the charts with ‘Hurtin’ Me’, peaking as high as Number 7. This week , the French Montana assisted single is down to number 32, on place down from last weeks result.

Not3s released his much awaited ‘Take Not3s‘ EP last week Friday and he’s into the Top 40 singles with ‘My Lover‘ – taken from the project.  The EP debuts just outside the Top 40 albums at number 43 but will be looking to climb up the charts next week.

So that’s it for this week’s Chart Update, the urban scene is doing incredibly well and it’s a good sight to behold. Be sure to check back in next week to see how things pan out and how the race for a Christmas Number 1 is going for Big Shaq and Stormzy.
