The Amex Gold Unsigned Initiative kicked off last night at The Dome in Tufnell Park. There were performances from a wide variety of up and coming artists, as well as a host of culturally significant names in attendance.

There were six shortlisted performers at the event, coming in the shape of Kianja, Riya Gadher, Abz Winter, Baby, Harleighblu and Simon A. Furthermore the likes of Mike Skinner and Kano made appearances, as well as models Daisy Lowe and Jack Guinness, DJs Vick Hope and Jess Iszatt, and artist Nettie Wakefield.

Speaking on the initiative, Simon A, one of the performers, stated:

“It’s been really informative to gain experience from all walks of music life and getting the opportunity to learn and hear from all these different perspectives. Even soundchecking was super fun – this is the biggest venue I’ve ever played. It’s 500 people – it should be fun, to engage with that many people. To see everyone show up and get involved and to see all the other artists perform as well.”
