2K have allegedly won the vacant FIFA licence and will produce the next games in the FIFA series.
With the free-to-play release of UFL is just around the corner , reports suggest that the developers at 2k are already planning for a release sometime in 2025, increasing the heat in the previously dormant football video game market.
Whilst not confirmed officially, the news does back up claims from earlier this year about 2K and FIFA.
When EA announced it would be taking its football franchise forward without FIFA branding, Take-Two’s CEO praised FIFA as having a “great brand” with “incredible clout”, while also indicating that the company was interested in “expanding our opportunities in sports”.
FIFA should be in capable hands under 2K who are under Take-Two Interactive, the company that owns the GTA, WWE and Red Dead series.
