Following his arrest by the US Immigration & Customs Enforcement, 21 Savage has now been released on bond.
Shey’aa Bin Abraham-Joseph, known as 21 Savage, remained in custody for nine days after overstaying his VISA and therefore living illegally in the States. It is confirmed that the rapper is indeed British-born and moved to the States with his mother at age 7.
The Grammy-nominated rapper still has a fight for his freedom ahead of him and will face court proceedings. His legal team released a statement on his behalf:
“He will not forget this ordeal or any of the other fathers, sons, family members and faceless people he was locked up with or that remain unjustly incarcerated across the country.”
