Thousands of people headed to Hyde Park today in order to support the Black Lives Matter movement.
Many people took to Hyde Park at 1pm to show their support and solidarity to such an important movement that’s been taking place all around the world; “Black Lives Matter” and “No justice. No Peace“, the protesters chant in response to the horrific police brutality and racism, holding up their signs.
One of which is John Boyega, delivering a heart felt and empowering speech to the thousands surrounding him, he said “I need you to understand how painful this sh*t is, to be reminded everyday that your race means nothing and that isn’t the case anymore. That is never the case anymore. We are a physical representation of our support for George Floyd. We are a physical representation of our support for Sandra Bland. We are a physical representation of our support for Trayvon Martin. We are a physical representation of our support for Stephen Lawrence.”
“I’m speaking to you from my heart. Look, I don’t know if I’m going to have a career after this, but f*ck that”.
This protest follows up from Blackout Tuesday, where the music industry and people across the world reflected in ways they can change the issues surrounding injustice, racism and inequality.
