Artist, producer, and songwriter tendai has come through with his latest single, ‘Tried To Fly’. The 23 year old has already been recognised for his talents having been nominated for the Ivor Novello Rising Star Award, as well as working on Stormzy’s number one album ‘This Is What I Mean’.

Growing up in Canning Town, East London, tendai’s music is unbound by genre and covers a multitude of influences. The artist has already released two projects this year, ‘three.one’ and ‘three.two’, with this new single signalling that more quality music is on the way.

Speaking on ‘Tried To Fly’, tendai states:

” tried to fly is about letting go .

u can’t fly without the courage to fall .

i think abt this a lot . 

i watched my niece learn to walk thinkin she braver than me . cos when she fell , she weren’t taking a knee .

now i be knownin . 

a baby don’t know that it’s growing .

im takin her advice it’s still showin .

fear in my heart but the line needz toeing .

all i gotta do is tell the truth in a poem .

letting go ain’t easy . but it’s necessary .

so this is me , letting go .”
