One of the biggest festivals in America, Coachella kicked off over the weekend with some of the biggest names in music. Kanye, ASAP Rocky & NWA were all in attendance at the festival.
However, grime fans were disheartened after they heard the news that North London rapper Skepta would not be performing at Coachella.
News spread that he was denied a US work visa. He took to Instagram to let his fans knows and posted “Love to everybody that wanted to see me on tour this month, my U.S visa has been denied and I am not allowed in America right now. Still taking forward steps and forever working with God. Brb.”
Following his two shows at Coachella, the grime superstar was expected to perform at other major shows across the US including a slot at Moogfest on the 19th-22nd May in Durham NC.
Despite Skepta’s absence, major British artist still performed including the likes of, Ellie Goulding, AlunaGeorge and Disclosure. British Producer and DJ, Calvin Harris brought out Rihanna and Big Sean for an epic performance.
