Since the announcement of the shows earlier this year, Wizkid has kept fans waiting eagerly for his sold-out appearance in London’s O2 Arena. Posing as one of the most highly anticipated shows this year, the international star pulled off a triumphant performance in what can only be described an incomparable experience. Bringing out a selection of boast-worthy guests to take the stage with him, the ‘Made In Lagos’ tour was a night of celebration for African music.
Paired alongside confetti snowfalls, custom money flurries, beaming lights, and up-scale production, all 20,000 guests were taken on a fun-filled party courtesy of DJ Tunez before the show began. Keeping the crowd hyped playing a selection of hip-moving songs, the arena cut the lights as Wizkid made his unforgettable entrance. Elevating from a candle-lit platform as he was welcomed with a sea of flash-lit phones, Wizkid began to take his fans on an unforgettable journey through Lagos.
With guest appearances from Blaqbonez, Eugy, Lojay, Ms Banks, Bella Shmurda, Buju, Tay Iwar, Giggs, and Skepta, he performed a selection of tracks from both his newly-released album and OG tracks for his day-one supporters. Filling the arena with a never-seen-before energy, it was songs like ‘Sweet One’, ‘Essence’, ‘Ginger’, and ‘Energy (Stay Far Away)’ alongside UK veteran Skepta that electrified the crowd. Stood in front of a cinematic backdrop and live band – one of which you may recognise, the UK’s very own Venna – Wizkid pulled off a night to remember that without a doubt will go down in the history books!
