South London’s Big John pulls inspiration from ‘Attack The Block’ with infectious new track “Tier 4”

Casey Dorney

Following captivating debut single “Dedication” unleashed last year, Big John returns with a cultural execution pulling innovative ideas from London-based film ‘Attack The Block’ for new gripping track “Tier 4”.

With incredibly creative visuals shot by LAH Media in South Wimbledon’s High Path estate, that takes place in a dystopian universe where ‘lockdown’ is enforced by a tyrannical government. The message delivered throughout the video further highlights the problematic ongoing tension between the Police and young black boys living on these estates.

Big John adds: Growing up where I’m from, most people have a “get it by any means” mentality. Where we just went through a pandemic, I thought it would be cool to mix the Tier 4 scenario with this narrative”.

Fusing elements of rap with smooth melodies, Big John’s cadence stands out considerably throughout his distinctive flow and highly authentic delivery. Thriving from Croydon, South London Big John is undeniably an incredibly creative rising star and is one to watch for upcoming releases!
