Following the release of “Please Don’t Move To London It’s A Trap” and “Awful Things”, Leytonstone singer – songwriter Murkage Dave has kicked off 2022 with silky new single “Us Lot”.
Production courtesy of New Machine, who has worked with the likes of Jorja Smith, Slowthai and Kano, an ambient alternative beat allows Murkage Dave to glide over delicately with his delicate tone. Hitting a nerve again with his poignant and satircal lyrics, “Us Lot” is an ode to friendship, a love song for the ones that bevome more like family.
Murkage Dave showcases his raw and emotional talent in this single. This song is not only tranquil and relaxing – the intricately written lyrics hit so much deeper with the context behind the song, as well as being showcased in the form of his brilliant voice. Murkage Dave says :
“Us Lot is a love song for every misunderstood friend, every black sheep, every prodigal child. I’d like to think I’ve written it for a few people I’m close to but maybe it’s just a letter to myself, I haven’t fully worked it out yet.”
