One of the breakout stars of the year, Cameroon born, Minnesota based singer Libianca has released her latest single, ‘Jah’. The artist has a unique sound that shows global influences, combining the sounds of Afro Pop, Soul, and R&B.
Libianca found breakout success this year thanks to her single, ‘People’. The track became the highest charting African single in UK Chart history, as well holding the number one spot on the UK Afrobeats chart for eight weeks.
Speaking on her latest track, the artist states:
“In my life, I’ve met and become close to a lot of people who are not here with me today (figuratively). Unfortunately, sometimes things don’t work out how you would have imagined, and sometimes you need to walk away from someone for the betterment of yourself.”
With an innate vulnerability and freedom of expression in her music, there is no doubt that Libianca can capitalise on her hot start to this year and grow into one of the leading lights of African music. Having recently collaborated with JAE5 and Lojay, new music seems to be on the horizon, putting the artist on the brink of superstardom.
