GQ have released their official list of ’13 Most Stylish Men in the World.’ The list which usually include the likes of Kanye West, changed it up this year with some familiar faces including; Drake, Idris Elba and Future. GQ even stated “No disrespect to the hall of famers-from Kanye to Clooney, Gosling to Pharrell-but this year we’re feeling a different, right-this second strain of pro-level style. We speak of men who look just as sharp on the street as they do on the red carpet.
Drake is on top of the rap scene right now with his album ‘Views from the 6’ dropping end of the month. The Toronto native has been described as “The Coziest Baller” with his “clothes that fit loose, so as not to constrict the swag. Clothes that look appropriate for watching, or even playing, sports. Dressing this way is a power move.” Drake’s sport luxe style secured his place on GQ.
Atlanta rapper Future who recently did a collaborative mixtape with Drake, was also named one the most stylish men in the world. The rapper was honoured for his wide brimmed hats and casual style, Marc Williamson from the ‘Hat Club’ in Harlem described Future’s signature hat as “definitely considered an old guy’s hat until Future started wearing them. Now we get plenty of calls from guys wanting the ‘Future Hat.’
Idris Elba was recently called “too street” to play the role of James Bond. Well GQ listed the London actor as the ‘007 of style’. They described his sense of style as “the platonic ideal of an alpha-male movie star does not look like Cary Grant—or, God help us, Hugh Grant. It looks like Idris, a dandy who relishes the chance to dress up, and who takes black tie as a challenge to blow everyone else away with a broody monochrome Giorgio Armani look that pretty much radiates masculinity.”
