The 14th of June marks the one year anniversary of the Grenfell Tower fire tragedy. Authorities confirmed 72 lives were lost. Many families are still recovering from the tragedy and the community are still asking for justice.

People travelled from across UK and further to show their respects and take part in the Grenfell rememberance, which was the combination of various of events that included church and mosque services and a vigil as well as a ceremony at the base of the tower. Police estimated that 5,000 people took part.

Green scarves were given out by volunteers. The Labour leader Jermey Corbyn wrote a message on the tower’s perimeter fence: “Love and sympathy to all at Grenfell. Together we mourn. Together we overcome.”

Corbyn later said to the mainstream reporters the fire represented “everything that is unequal and wrong about this country”.

There was an emotional scene where a train driver stopped the train on the bridge heading in towards Latimer Road to pay his respects to the victims of Grenfell:
