Reminiscent of his old flow, Fliptrix releases his new single ‘Mantra no.9’ to set the pace in anticipation of his forthcoming album.
An upbeat instrumental paired with gritty bars and a boisterous tone, ‘Mantra no.9’ possess a nostalgic pure street rap vibe as Fliptrix rhythms over the beat. However, in his words, you can hear the desire to lean toward the simplicity and beauty of nature.
In the track, he is highly critical of the artificialness of urbanity and the problems that come with it such as crime and corruption. But it doesn’t stop him from acknowledging that these things have been a big influence in his life.
Fliptrix says: “ ‘Mantra No. 9’ is about finding freedom by reconnecting with nature.”
Continuing he says it’s “unplugging from the matrix and focusing on becoming as self-sustainable as possible, and in doing so creating a positive future for us and generations to come.”
The London-born lyricist is also a part of the group The Four Owls. The Four Ours are a UK hip-Hop group that strives to treat rap as an art form and pay high attention to their lyrism.
