This wouldn’t be the first time that the global Toronto star has commended the group. In 2016, Drake made made a surprise appearance on their tour sending waves of excitement through the London rap scene.
Drake’s love for the UK scene runs deep. In 2012, Drake can be seen explaining how he found love for London Rapper Sneakbo’s flows which led to him tweeting “in Amsterdam on a jet ski wave… word to Sneaky.” Other examples include his alliance with Skepta and Boy Better Know, he featured rapper Giggs on track “KMT” on his album More Life, UK artist Kyla is sampled on “One Dance” and in summer 2018 he shocked us with his Behind Barz freestyle that had a distinctive UK flow.
This isn’t the first, and its unlikely that it will be the last, time that Drake shows his UK love. Nevertheless, Smoke Boys can feel proud for getting this recognition yet again – they didn’t come back to play this time around and it shows!
