Roc Nation signed, British musician Kay Young, releases her anticipated EP Middle Matters.

The 6 track EP encapsulates the impressive artists versatility over her multi-faceted production. Holding both boastful raps, balancing vulnerability and honesty while equally harnessing the essence of classic Hip-Hop, Kay Young is a multi-hyphenate bound for global recognition. 

It was Kay Young’s stapled production style that caught Jay Electronica’s eye initially; and that is displayed throughout the EP, including her use of James Blake’s Retrograde sample on Don’t Wait For Me, showing Young’s vast level of influences and innate ability to weave old and new, creating something totally original. 

Middle Matters serves as a complete ode to where Kay is right now… “I’m no longer where I used to be and I’m not yet where I want to be yet. I’m in the middle which is uncomfortable but also where you do the most growing. ‘Middle Matters’ is simply me growing through the pain.” Says Young.
