Why the name Lazza?
It’s a short name for my surname. My surname’s Lazzarini. Since I was a kid they used to call me Lazza. Like a nickname.
What’s the meaning behind the tattoo on your eyebrow?
This tattoo is the title of my last album. I used to tattoo all the titles of my albums.
Would you say the eyebrow tattoo is the most important one?
This is from the last album. It went 6x Platinum. I’ve got another tattoo on my left hand ‘Re Mida’. The first album is on the back of my neck. The first album was ‘Zzala’.
Did the eyebrow tattoo hurt the most?
No, I think the one on my hand hurt the most. The one on the back of my head, I fell asleep. It was because I was tired. I was starting my tour and I was tired.
What is your favourite line or lyric?
I don’t think I have a favourite lyric, it’s difficult to pick one.
What’s your favourite thing about London?
The music probably. The drill scene is my favourite. I’ve worked with some producers from here.
What’s your favourite from the UK?
From here? I don’t know. Probably Adele. She has a crazy voice.
Is she someone you want to collaborate with in the future?
Yeah, why not.
How does it feel to perform in London for the first time?
It’s crazy because if I think about 3-4 years ago, it was difficult for me to do this for many people in Italy. To do a live show it’s difficult. If you do like a DJ set, the club is already full of people. If you have to sell tickets by yourself, it’s difficult.
Is it harder to do it here, or in Italy?
No, it’s harder to do it here because the crowd was full of Italian guys, but you have to find 1000 people who listen to Italian music over here. My tour in Italy went the best this year. It was all sold out.
Where in Italy was it your favourite to perform?
Probably the Arena Di Veron because it’s difficult to book that place.
The first show of the season was mine. They opened up with me.
Really, how was that knowing that you were the first to do it?
Lazza: It was magic.
What was the most exciting song to perform today?
I’d say, Zonda, because it’s the last song I dropped, and I did that song with 808Melo, and here’s a producer from here. I think it’s difficult to get away from another place. I’m Italian. Drill music is from here. So I decided to do it with a producer from here and it was fucking crazy.
