Taking over the Oval Studios in East London on Monday evening, The FA presented the world with their first ‘Cup Culture’ event, previewing Saturday’s FA Cup Final with help from Olaolu Slawn and his replica FA Cup Trophy, an EAFC Tournament hosted by The Sidemen’s TBJZL, and a performance from London’s very own AJ Tracey to seal the night.
A collective celebration not only of sport but also of fashion, music, art and culture, the groundbreaking event was attended by around 700 guests, with various internal popups within the venue to be captivated by. With sneaker brand Kick Game offering prizes through their “Pull Up” pop-up, a ‘fit check’ photo booth hosted by “Footballers Fits” and a Wembley Stadium VR headset corner, the evening was an immersive experience for all in attendance.
The FIFA tournament saw eight teams including representatives of Bape, Unknwn and Percival go head to head using the finalist clubs of Manchester United and Manchester City, and ILLVZN were crowned winners in front of the engaged live audience.
With DJs throughout the night consisting of JamoBeatz, Izzy Bossy and the legendary Kenny Allstar, the seamless blend of the creative industries throughout the night was executed perfectly. With Wingstop providing free chicken and chips, and a bar provided by Carling, this was an evening enjoyed by all in attendance, and the perfect way to get ready for the big FA Cup Final this weekend.
